Euphoria 5-Step and Function issues

Hi there,

First of all, thank you Stefan for the amazing Euphoria synthesizer! I purchased it as a PCB set and I’m really enjoying building it step by step. Soldering all the SMD components is surprisingly fun and kind of meditative! Also, the documentation is excellent, which makes the whole building process really smooth.

I’m currently installing, testing, and calibrating the first boards, and I’ve encountered two issues. I hope someone can help me out.

1. Issue: 5-Step Board

When all five gate buttons are pressed (in the latch position), only the LEDs for Step 2 and Step 5 light up and the LEDs for Step 1, 3, and 4 remain off. Conversely, the LEDs for Step 1, 3, and 4 light up when the respective buttons are not pressed.

Additionally, the sequencer only outputs TRIG and GATE signals when the LEDs are off. This means that in order to get a TRIG signal from all five steps, the buttons for Step 1, 3, and 4 need to be pressed (so that the LEDs are off), while the buttons for Step 2 and 5 must not be pressed (so that their LEDs are also off). This behavior doesn’t seem right to me.

2. Issue: Function Board

The Cycle and Range buttons have no effect and the Function module stays permanently in cycling mode, regardless of the position of these two buttons.

Do you have any idea what could be causing these issues? I can send you pictures or videos to illustrate the problems if needed.
